Founded as a small retail store operating out of shacks, YCA today is a prestigious import/export, wholesale/retail operation, with branches in the tourism industry, real estate, construction, and food services.
YCA has been serving the island of Yap since 1950 with local goods and goods imported from around the globe, from countries in Asia like Japan, Singapore, Taiwan, China, and the Philippines, as well as goods imported from the United States. YCA provides services, goods, and products ranging from major manufacturers and distributors.
YCA today is a highly successful company operating out of the newly constructed YCA Business Center completed in early 1994, with a ten-member board of directors, over a thousand shareholders, and over one-hundred dedicated employees and contract workers. YCA remains a main competitor in today’s economic and marketing trends and challenges.
